The HUSD Assistive Technology Program was created in 1997 by Dr. Kay Turner, director of Special Education. Dr. Turner appointed Connie Van Sant, OTR/L from 1997 to 2005 to develop the program and bring it from paper to a fully functional AT program. Stewardship of the program was passed to Janice Johnson, OTR/L who maintained the program and expanded its capacity throughout the district until her retirement in 2008. The AT department currently includes a coordinator, Wylanta Jones, and a technical assistant, Bryan Timm.

Wylanta Jones, M.S., CCC-SLP, is the Assistive Technology Coordinator for the Special Services department at HUSD.
